In an effort to preserve and celebrate the rich traditions of the African-American community, the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus Foundation is hosting its annual Black Caucus Soiree.
This year our theme, “Celebrating the Arts” aims to honor the cultural contributions African Americans have made to the growth and development of the performing arts.
It’s important to preserve and cherish African-American art because it gives our youth a foundation to build upon and commemorates the accomplishments of past heroes. The Black Caucus Soiree will be on Wednesday, February 17th, at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum located at 112 North 6th Street in Springfield, Illinois from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
This year, the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus will be honoring Howard Sandifer, the founder Chicago West Community Music Center, and Jackie Taylor, the Founder and Executive Director of the Black Ensemble Theater Company.
We wish to invite you to this special event and l look forward to seeing you.
